Monthly Meeting, April 2007

Meeting came to order Monday, April 30th , 2007 at 7PM at the Mt. Hood Golf Course

March 2007 meeting minutes accepted. 

Trish McElligott voted in as Field Manager

 

Registrar Items

 

The board voted to increase Registration fees for fall 2007 due to increasing fees for travel.  City registrations will increase by $5.00, Travel registrations will increase by $15.00.  Family cap of $180 will remain intact. 

 

On-line registration for fall 07 will open in mid-May.  Travel registration will close May 25th in order to support MYS travel try-outs.  City Registration close date is August 1st.  Gary will schedule an in-person registration night at the Elks for mid-May 2007. 

 

Field Coordinator

 

 

City Program

 

Munchkins and U10 coordinator not present.  However, both leagues are up and running.  U8 City up and running as well.  All make-up games for both U8 and U10 are being held during practice sessions.  Field linings may need to be done more often this season due to usage.

 


 

Travel League

 

 

GU10 - Tues May 29 and Thurs May 31: 4:00 registration; 4:30-5:30 training
session

BU10 - Mon June 4 and Mon June 11: 5:30 registration; 6-7 training session

GU12 - Tues May 29 and Thurs May 31: 5:30 registration; 6-7:30 training
session

BU12 - Tues May 29 and Thurs May 31: 4:00 registration; 4:30-6 training
session

GU14 - Wed May 30 and Thurs June 7: 5:30 registration; 6-7:30 training
session

BU14 - Wed May 30 and Thurs June 7: 4:00 registration; 4:30-6 training
session

 

All players need to attend both evaluation sessions on their assigned Age Group date. 

 

Miscellaneous

 

New England Revolution:  Trish met with Mike Dressler from the New England Revolution function group.  Melrose Youth Soccer night is scheduled for June 23rd.  Trish is sending a mass email to all coaches and families for distribution.  Trish is also going to MMTV for advertising and will contact the Melrose Free Press and Melrose Weekly for advertising. 

 

It was noted that if 200 tickets are sold, Melrose Youth Soccer will have a section in the parking lot reserved for tailgating.  If people are tailgating, it should be done on an individual basis, Melrose Youth Soccer is not hosting tailgating. 

 

Revolution tickets:  Chris Wolley GU14 asst is using the season tickets for this weekend’s game. 


 

Pictures: 

 

The photographer may not have enough time to take pictures during the travel placement sessions.  Another option is to have parents or coaches volunteer to take pictures of kids as they register.
