  1. Fields
    1. Discussion on Fall Field status Permits took place with Nick Gove. Beth provided an outgoing field scheduler report/plan.  Fall plans were reviewed:  U8 will play at the Franklin, U10 City and Travel will play at the Common, U12 will play at Pine Banks SF2 grass field, U14 will play at the West Knoll field.  
    2. Roles / Responsibilities for Fall 07 season  - need to set up a meeting for new field scheduler and field manager.  Field subcommittee meeting set for July 4th at Starbucks (Rich, Dennis, Beth, Heather, Trish)
    3. Field use/conflicts with older kids (submitted by Gary)  Actions were taken with Pat Ruggierro to instruct players (High School) as to proper demeanor.

Munchkins:  status of Munchkins  Coordinator position is available ;Gray will interview candidates

 

U8 league:  status of U8 league (Sean won’t be in attendance – he will submit something in written form for distribution with June minutes)

Sean’s report was reviewed. Field size was modified to 25 x50 yard size, new larger penalty box will be implemented next season.

Franklin field needs work, Trish will discuss with Nick Gove  to begins repairs to the bare spots.

Suggestion that all coaches be provided with a Melrose Youth Soccer Shirt. Was approved for Fall implementation.

 

U10 league:  U10 league completed on June 16th.  Thanks to Steve for coordinating the Referees.

  Steve Silveira was voted in as U10 Coordinator. Game schedule was discussed and we agreed to include playoffs in U10 including a final match to determine league winner., Teams will be configured  to equalize Gender and age advantages while considering friend requests.  Priority is on parity teams.  U10City will be updated to include 8 U10 Boys who registered for travel; with this addition there are approximately 100 players in U10 City.

Score reports will be required from the U10 C referees in order to implement the playoffs.

 

 

  1. Travel League           

      Tryouts and team selections were completed with 21 teams reprsented in the Middlesex League. We are looking to fill 3 coaching positions. Official Fall 2007 Rosters, Registration Fee $ 3,325.00 and contact forms were submitted on time to Middlesex registrar. Fall season will consist of 9 Games starting September 8th.

Teams can begin workouts August 1, 2007.  There is very limited additional space available on the travel teams.

  1. President         Bill presented Melrose Appreciation day fundraiser from Montvale tire Co.

 

  1. Miscellaneous

 

    1. Revolution Night status  Less than stellar…..21 total attendees
    2. Skill patches  Idea is to give out patches to players  for milestones achieved at Friday evening skills development nigts.
    3. Specialty Clinics for U6-U? players  (Mass Youth Soccer offers these)
    4. Fall coach meetings  Logical time is Mid August for orientation and equipment distribution. This will coordinated wuth the arrivalof uniforms.
    5. E license course in Melrose:  Heather/Steve Silveira to coordinate.  Need two 8 hour days with a gym.  Heather will contact Tara Pierce to schedule instructor when gym dates are confirmed.  No Report
    6. Referee courses – Steve Finley will advise what is the greatest need  Grade 9 or Grade 8
